6 NOVEMBER 2024 13:30-16:00 GMT

Online-workshop-training-impact-case-sudy-reviewers.jpg

This workshop is ideal for anyone new to reviewing draft impact case studies or providing REF submission support for the first time - research impact managers, newly-appointed UoA leads or directors of impact who would like to increase their confidence.

With a focus on building an understanding of the case study template and what’s required in each section, we'll take a detailed look at the formal requirements and restrictions, common mistakes, what best practice in impact evidence looks like and the variation in how impact is realised, presented and evidenced across different disciplines.

What we'll cover

  • the requirements of the impact case study template and the mistakes that might render a case study ineligible or unclassified

  • gold standard examples from 4* case studies to highlight what best practice looks like

  • how to give fair feedback and provide a reasoned potential ranking

What you'll gain

  • an improved understanding of reach and significance and how they are assessed

  • insight into the variety of impact evidence available and how it might be used to support different types of impact

  • understanding of how impact manifests across different disciplines so you can adjust your expectations accordingly when reviewing across UoAs

Ideal for

UoA or department leads, directors of impact, those new to reviewing impact case studies and research professionals providing REF impact support to colleagues for the first time.
