CASE STUDY
Developing an impactful research strategy for a Faculty of Arts
Saskia and Becca worked with WCL Associate Dr Dima Saber on a consultancy project helping an institution's Faculty of Arts develop a new research strategy.
Adopting a consensus-building facilitation method, the project considered how an arts faculty within a broad research university can distinguish itself whilst adhering to the institutional mission and fostering a cohesive sense of identity. Together with faculty staff, we problematised what innovation and enterprise means in an arts and humanities context, and considered the ways in which research and engagement activity operates within both the civic and global realms.
The team helped the faculty to develop a set of thematic areas, which they continue to use to structure their strategic work at both school- and faculty-level.
